What are the Limitations When Using Grammarly?

Grammarly has rapidly grown to be a lifesaver for writers across the globe. But while there are numerous benefits even if you’re using the free version of Grammarly, there are a couple of limitations to look at.

Here are the Limits When Using Grammarly

Device Limitation

An individual Grammarly subscription allows you to use Grammarly on up to five different devices. If you need to use Grammarly in a business or an institution with way more than five users, you can opt for the Grammarly Business or Grammarly @edu.

Document Limitation

Each authorized user can check up to 100 documents or 50,000 words within 24 hours. And up to 300 documents or 150,000 words within 30 days. This limitation applies regardless of whether you have a free or premium account.

Page Limitation

If you’re using Grammarly for Microsoft Word and Outlook, there is no page limitation but if you’re using Grammarly for Microsoft Word on Mac, you can check up to 150,000 characters. Note that the 150,000 characters include spaces.

If you’re using the Grammarly Editor at www.grammarly.com, then you can check up to 100,000 characters at a time.

Upload Limitation

You can only upload files not more than 4 MB to the Grammarly Editor. Also, make sure that the document has not more than 100,000 characters (including spaces). And the only supported file types are .doc, .docx, .odt, .txt, and .rtf.

#1- Does Grammarly support PDF file formats?

Currently, Grammarly does not support PDF file formats.

#2- I installed Grammarly but it doesn’t check my texts when I’m offline, why?

Grammarly is fully an online application. So to check your texts, your device must be connected to the internet.

#3- Why is my Grammarly not working on PowerPoint and Excel?

Unfortunately at this time, Grammarly only supports Microsoft Word and Outlook.
