- Headquarters-3500 W Olive Ave, Suite 730, Burbank, California
- CEO- Laith Alsarraf.

Birch Gold Group are an excellent and reputable gold and silver investment company. They’ve been in business of helping American diversify their investment and retirement portfolios since 2003 and are one of the best and most accessible gold IRA companies on the market.
I say they’re the most accessible because of their low investment limit threshold.
The minimum investment for opening a gold IRA account with Birch Gold Group is $10 000, which is 5x lower amount that the $50 000 required by Augusta Precious Metals (also one of the best gold IRA companies in the US read my Augusta Precious Metals review here).
You can buy precious metal coins and bars from Birch Gold Group for cash, or you can open a precious metals IRA with them and fill it with gold and silver bullion (Note: you can purchase gold, silver, platinum and palladium products and bullion from BGG).
Birch Gold Group also offer industry-renowned customer support. Their staff are knowledgeable, friendly and willing to answer all the questions you probably have about investing in gold and other precious metals.
I strongly recommend them as a legitimate gold IRA company that’s as far away from being a scam as they could be. They’re legit!

Whichever step you take, you’ll get on the company’s radar and pretty soon they’re going to contact you and inquire whether you’re interested in investing in precious metals with them.
Note: here’s the process if you decide to open a gold IRA account with them.
- First, you need to speak with a precious metals specialist to explain your motivations for interest in gold and silver.

Note: there are young gold IRA companies which are also doing a great service for American looking to invest; but usually, in the gold IRA industry the older the company is, the more trustworthy, reputable and legitimate it is.

Budget-Friendly Minimum Investment Requirement
Birch Gold Group are very lenient with their minimum investment requirement. They require you have only $10 000 to order precious metals from them or to open a gold IRA account with them.
You can fund your new gold IRA account by doing a rollover from Traditional, Roth, SEP and SIMPLE IRAs.
Additionally, many employer-sponsored retirement savings plans, such as a 401(k) and 403(b), are also eligible to be transferred to a Precious Metals IRA.
Note: I meant it when I said BGG are very lenient with their minimum investment requirement. For example, Augusta Precious Metals and Goldco Precious Metals are two excellent gold IRA companies.
However, their minimum investment threshold requirements are much higher than Birch’s. Goldco require a minimum of $25 000 while Augusta require $50 000.
Gold IRA Company | Gold IRA Minimum Requirement | Cash Purchases Minimum Requirement |
---|---|---|
Birch Gold Group | $10 000 | $10 000 |
Goldco Precious Metals | $3 500 | |
Augusta Precious Metals | $50 000 | $50 000 |

And these are all legit and genuine customer reviews that went through the editorial scrutiny of the platforms they’re published on. Click here to jump to the section of my Birch Gold Group review that showcases those positive customer reviews.
Low Number of Genuine Customer Complaints
This point is tightly related to the previous one right above.
Birch Gold Group have a remarkably few genuine customer complaints and negative reviews.
For example, on their BBB profile they have only 9 complaints filed in last 3 years. That’s remarkably few.
Low Number of Lawsuits Filed Against Birch Gold Group
Despite their great age, Birch Gold Group have rarely been taken to court (according to my research prior to writing this Birch Gold review)
Strong Focus on Customer Education
A clear sign of the company’s legitimacy is their willingness to educate the potential customer before trying to sell to them.
As for Birch Gold Group they’ll insist you download and peruse their free info kit before doing business with you.
They literally won’t want to work with you unless you come into this properly educated.
Birch Gold Group Review 2024- the Company's Pros Explained! #goldira #silverira #nikolaroza Share on XBirch Gold Cons (Complaints)
- Restrictive refund policy.
- No transparent pricing on their website.
- No numismatic coins.
- No rhodium bullion.
- No copper products.
- No lifetime support.
- No guaranteed buyback policy.
Complaint 1- Restrictive Refund Policy
Birch Gold Group’s refund policy is pretty restrictive.
Their refund policy is that they don’t offer any refunds, except for counterfeit coins returned to their original holders within 90 days of purchase.
Complaint 2- No Transparent Pricing on Their Website
Birch Gold Group don’t show the pricing of their products on their website.
This is a con, but it’s not a red flag because pretty much other gold IRA companies don’t publicly show they pricing too.
It’s just the standard in this industry.
Note: as you can see, BGG give you a lot of information about the coins they sell, but no price.
Complaint 3- No Numismatic Coins
Numismatic coins are not IRA-approved, but some people like to have rare coins as part of their collection.
Unfortunately, Birch Gold Group don’t sell numismatic coins to potential buyers.
Complaint 4- No Rhodium Bullion
Birch Gold Group don’t sell rhodium-made products. Rhodium is a relatively unknow precious metals and it’s also not IRA-approved.
Complaint 5- No Copper Products
Birch Gold Group don’t sell copper-made products. Copper is not a popular metal and items made from it are in low demand. Copper is widely used in various industries today.
Complaint 6- No Lifetime Support
A gold investment company like Augusta Precious Metals offer “account lifetime support”. It’s their promise and guarantee that once you become their customer you’ll be entitled to receiving lifetime support from them.
Birch Gold Group also offer superb customer support, and it might be lifetime support ss well. But I can’t say it as they don’t say it anywhere on their site.
Complaint 7- No Guaranteed Buyback Policy
Birch Gold Group don’t guarantee they’ll buyback the precious metals you bought from them. It’s a definite con, but it’s also an obligatory one.
Why?
Because, according to the US law they aren’t allowed to promise guaranteed buybacks.
Note: no other gold IRA company promises guaranteed buybacks. It’s simply not allowed.
Birch Gold Group Review 2024- the Company's Cons Explained! #goldira #silverira #nikolaroza Share on XIs Birch Gold Group Secure and Safe?
Birch Gold Group is a secure and safe gold IRA company to work with.
First, Birch Gold work with Equity Trust Company and GoldStar Trust (2 major custodial services operating in the US).
One of these custodial services is going to be the one who manages your IRA bullion and Birch Gold will make that connection for you.
Note: Birch Gold Group can work with any custodian the client wants. This means if you have a custodian service in mind, BGG will be able to work with them to cater to your needs.
Second, Birch Gold Group work with reputable depositors to store your gold and silver properly and securely.

Birch Gold Group Lawsuit
I found zero lawsuits filed against Birch Gold Group while doing research for my review.
Given Birch Gold’s longstanding presence as an industry leader, it’d be no surprise that they’ve been involved in some legal proceedings over the years.
However, zero lawsuits happened so far which is admirable to say the least.
And even if there was an occasional lawsuit filed against Birch Gold Group this would not indicate any serious issue, especially given the company’s proven track record of excellence.
When evaluating a potential gold IRA partner, you must consider the company’s long-term performance and overwhelming positives.
And by these criteria Birch Gold Group stands tall as a trusted leader renowned for ethics and customer satisfaction.
Birch Gold Group Review 2024- lawsuits and trials guide- has Birch Gold Group ever been sued? #goldira #silverira #nikolaroza Share on XIs Birch Gold Group Legit? Or Are They a Scam? What are Their Scores and Rating on Popular Consumer Watchdog Platforms?
Birch Gold Group is a legitimate precious metals IRA company. They’re not a scam. Their decades of serving Americans in diversifying with precious metals are ample proof of their legitimacy as a gold investment company.
Now to answer your second question. Birch Gold Group was founded in 2003 by their CEO Yaron Hadad.
This means the company is 20+ years old and until today they’ve successfully helped thousands of American savers and investors diversify their portfolios with precious metals.
And for these 20 years, they’ve only faced a handful of customer complaints from disgruntled employees and former customers.
This low number of complaints is proof Birch Gold Group is a legitimate gold IRA company.
Here are some of their scores on reputable consumer watchdog websites (at the time of writing my Birch Gold Group review).
Consumer Watchdog Websites | Number of reviews | Score | Number of complaints in the past 12 months |

Trustlink positive customer reviews of Birch Gold Group Source
As you can clearly see, Birch Gold Group have over the years gotten hundreds if not thousands of positive customer reviews on popular consumer websites.
But what about the opposite? Are ex Birch Gold Group customers complaining about Birch Gold?
Birch Gold Group Negative Customer Reviews? Do These Bad Reviews Exist?
Negative and bad reviews about Birch Gold Group exist, but I purposefully didn’t include them in my Birch Gold Group review.
Why?
Because a large chunk (not all of them) of these online reviews are fake reviews posted to harm BGG’s reputation.
Remember that Birch Gold is a gold investment company doing business in the gold IRA niche. Gold IRA niche is very competitive and unethical marketing practices are common among competitors.
Posting fake customer reviews is one such unethical marketing tactic.
I’m not saying all of the bad reviews you can find online are fake, but it’s darn near impossible to discern which negative reviews are real and which are fabricated and malicious; so I played it safe by including only positive testimonials here.
If you want to find online negative reviews and complaints about Birch Gold Group all you need to do is go to Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, and search queries like:
- “Birch Gold negative reviews”
- “Birch Gold negative review”
- “Birch Gold complaints”
- “Birch Gold Group bad reviews”
- “Birch Gold Group bad review”
- “Birch Gold Group customer complaints”
- and similar.
You can find these negative reviews easily, just be aware that the content you’re reading could very well be fake, AI-generated and definitely inaccurate. Use your sound judgement!
You can also click here to read about the common complaints about Birch Gold you need to be aware of before deciding to do business with this company.
Note: Birch Gold Group are a reputable and legit gold IRA company.
They monitor their BBB profile like a hawk for complaints and make sure to promptly address and resolve any genuine customer feedback that finds its way there.
For example, here’s someone (my guess Birch Gold Group customer) complaining they failed to get in touch with someone from Birch Gold, and it’s been a while.
Birch Gold Group were able to get in touch with them and resolve this issue successfully.
Here’s another customer complaining there was something wrong with their investment, namely the numbers didn’t match and they bought the wrong type of gold and silver coins.
BGG’s representative got in touch with them, answered their questions and resolved the issue successfully. The customer indicated in their BBB complaint that they were happy with the response
