The lawsuit was filed on November 28, 2022, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. It was classified as an “Other Statutes: Commerce ICC Rates, Etc.” case SHUGART v. PROVIDENT METALS, INC. et al 2:2022cv04733 | U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
The lawsuit accuses Provident Metals of “Carmack Amendment Violations” and specifically involves mishandling $14,925 in gold shipments Buy Silver & Gold Online – Coins & Bullion – Provident Metals. The Carmack Amendment typically governs liability for lost or damaged goods during interstate shipping, so this appears to be a case where gold shipments were allegedly mishandled, lost, or damaged during transit.
