What are the Most Popular Examples of IRA-Approved Palladium Coins and Bars?

Here are the most popular permitted palladium bullion coins which the IRS states are eligible for inclusion in your IRA:

  • Canadian Palladium Maple Leaf coins;
  • Russian Ballerina Palladium coins;
  • American Palladium Eagle Coin;

There aren’t that many palladium-approved coins and bars and as you research you’ll learn there aren’t plenty of US gold IRA and silver IRA investment companies that sell palladium products and bullion.

Most just sell real gold coins and bars+ real silver coins and bars.

Further below I give you a legit US gold investment company where you can purchase both physical real palladium and IRA-eligible palladium bullion.

Which Palladium Coins and Bars are Not IRA Approved (Examples)?

Here are some examples of palladium IRA-ineligible bullion:

  • Tonga King Taufa Ahau Tupou IV Coins;
  • French 100 Franc Palladium Bullion Lafayette Coins;
  • China Palladium Panda 50 and 100 Yuan Coins;
  • Isle of Man Palladium U.S. Constitution Coins;
  • Australia Emu Palladium Coins;
  • Portugal Palladium Proof Coins;
  • Switzerland 50 Francs Palladium William Tells;
  • Slovak Republic EU Expansion Pentagon-Shaped Palladium Coins.

As you can see the list of coins and bars that are IRA-ineligible is much bigger than the list of eligible coins and bars.

Besides the coins listed above, it’s important to avoid any proof coins, collector coins, commemoratives, or valuable numismatic coins.

Such rare coins are rare and beautiful, but the IRS will not accept them as part of your IRA account.

Where to Buy IRA-Eligible Palladium? How to Include IRA-Approved Palladium as Part of Your IRA Account?

Normally, at this point I’d recommend Augusta Precious Metals as the number #1 gold RIA company in the US (read my Augusta Precious Metals review here). Unfortunately, Augusta don’t sell IRA-eligible palladium bullion so you’ll need to look elsewhere.

My other quality recommendation is Birch Gold Group. BGG is a superb gold investment company that also sells both IRA-approved and regular palladium coins, ingots and bars. They also sell real platinum bullion as well.

Note: JM Bullion are also an excellent precious metal investment company.

They allow you to buy as many or as few palladium coins and bars as you want whereas Birch Gold Group has a minimum purchase requirement you have to meet.
