Sacagawea dollars without visible dates fall into two categories.
Most are Native American dollars (2009-present) where dates and mint marks are intentionally moved to the coin’s edge. These coins are worth only their face value of $1.
However, true no-date Sacagawea coins exist and these specimens are extremely rare and valuable to numismatists because the edge lettering on them never existed.
Take your coin to a professional grading service if you suspect you have a genuine no-date Sacagawea Dollar.
You can sell it for a lot of money if you do.

What are Sacagawea Dollar Coins Without Dates on the Front?
Sacagawea dollar coins without dates on the front are standard Native American dollars (2009-present) where the date and mint mark moved to the edge.
Some, very rare, true “no-date” Sacagawea coins miss the edge lettering entirely and these are valuable to numismatists as rare mint error coins.
No-date Sacagawea dollars are worth much more than the standard $1 face value, but need expert verification to rule out accidental and deliberate alterations.
Earlier editions of the Sacagawea dollar (2000-2008) had the date on the obverse near the bottom of the coin.

What is the Worth and Value of Sacagawea Dollar Coins Without Dates?
A Sacagawea dollar without a visible date that’s part of the American Native $1 Coin series is usually worth its $1 face value. These coins don’t have dates on obverse by design as their dates and mint marks are moved to coin edges.
However, no-date Sacagawea Dollar is potentially worth tens, hundreds, or even thousands of dollars if the date is missing due to a rare minting error (like the edge lettering being absent).
For example, a few years ago a unique (literally the only one ever discovered) no-date Native American 2009 Sacagawea Dollar was sold for $10,000 to an ecstatic numismatist who now has the bragging rights of owning a truly unique coin.

You should have your coin examined by a professional coin grading service if you have a 2000-2008 coin that truly lacks a date on both the face and the edge (when dates should have been on the obverse).
That coin could potentially be worth a lot of money to you.
Unfortunately, I can’t tell you how much you should expect given that so far zero no-date Sacagawea coins has been sold for an exuberant amount of money. The only exception is the sold coin I covered above.
I can say, however, that some rare Sacagawea dollars with mint errors have sold for thousands of dollars.
You can read my “Sacagawea Dollar coin worth and true value” guide to learn more about this topic.

Note: be careful if someone offers you no-date Sacagawea coins to buy. Check to see if the coins aren’t circulated to a point of losing their edge lettering.
And take the coins to a coin grading service for an evaluation if you have your doubts. It’s a major clue if the person trying to sell you such a coin refuses to professionally test it. They’re selling fake Sacagawea dollars!

Are There Sacagawea Cheerios Dollars Without Dates?
No, there’re no Sacagawea Cheerios dollar coins without dates. All Sacagawea Cheerios dollars that were part of the original promotion campaign have the “2000” date on the obverse along with some unique design features distinguishing them from regular circulating Sacajawea dollars.
Technically, it’s possible that one or several of the original 5,500 Cheerios Sacagaweas has the date missing on it. This would make it an extremely valuable specimen.
But, such a coin hasn’t been found so far, which doesn’t mean it won’t happen in the future as most Cheerios Sacagawea dollars are missing from circulation.
Check your Cheerios Sacagawea for missing dates if you own one of these rare coins.

Why Do Some No-Date Sacagawea Coins Have Arrows on Their Backs (Reverses)?
Some no-data Sacagawea dollars have arrows on their backs (reverse) because they’re a part of the 2010 Native American Dollar series.
This coin features Sacagawea with her child on the obverse and a bundle of five arrows clutched in an eagle’s talons on the reverse.
The image on the reverse symbolizes the Great Law of Peace and unity of the five original nations of the Confederacy (Mohawk, Onondaga, Oneida, Cayuga, and Seneca).
For these coins the U.S. Mint moved the date, mint mark, and the motto “E PLURIBUS UNUM” from the obverse to the edge of the coin.
It’s a standard feature, and not a mint error.

Are There Sacagawea Dollar Coins Without Dates and Mint Marks at the Same Time?
Yes, there’re Sacagawea dollar coins without dates and mint marks at the same time.
These are all coins from the Native American dollars series from 2009 onwards where dates and mint marks were moved from obverses to edges.
These edge inscriptions require magnification to read and heavily circulated coins lose them entirely.
But, lacking mint marks and dates because of heavy circulation doesn’t make them more valuable as they were originally minted with these design elements.

Are There Sacagawea Coins Without Dates and Edge Lettering at the Same Time?
Yes, there’re Sacagawea coins without dates and edge lettering at the same time.
They’re specifically coins from the early years (2000-2008) where the date should be on the front (obverse), but the date is missing. These error coins also don’t have edge lettering meaning they lack both of these design features.
Or they could be coins from the Native American Dollar Series (2009+) where the date/mint mark should be on the edge along with mint marks and “E PLURIBUS UNUM” inscription.
Discovering a Native American Dollar Series coin in mint condition and without edge lettering would be significant as it’s a rare mint error worth a lot of money.
However, most of the Native American Dollars you’ll find have lost their edge lettering due to heavy circulation.
See example below of a person showing a worn out Sacagawea Dollar with a smooth edge, even though the coin originally had a lettered edge with a date on it.
