American Hartford Gold (AHG) has been involved in six lawsuits over its years of operation, appearing as both plaintiff and defendant.
The cases cover a range of disputes including a business contract dispute against Gold Gate Capital (2018), a wrongful termination claim by a former employee (2022), a personal property fraud allegation (2020), another contract dispute (2020), an active case where AHG is seeking over $5 million in damages against unnamed defendants, and a fraud lawsuit against an individual that was later dismissed (2023–2024).
Most cases were either dismissed, settled privately through arbitration, or resolved without a public verdict. No settlement amounts have been made public.

American Hartford Gold Lawsuits- Has American Hartford Gold Ever Been Sued?
I found 6 lawsuits American Hartford Gold Group was involved in. In some cases this company was the plaintiff, and in other it was the defendants.
I detail these lawsuits below.
Lawsuit 1- THE HARTFORD GOLD GROUP LLC VS GOLD GATE CAPITAL ET AL
On January 30th, 2018, Hartford Gold Group LLC brought a lawsuit against Gold Gate Capital. The lawsuit was related to a business contract dispute. It was filed with the Los Angeles County Superior Courts at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse located in Los Angeles, California.
The current status of the case is that it has been disposed of or dismissed.

Lawsuit 2- DANIEL BOSTON VS HARTFORD GOLD GROUP, LLC, DBA AMERICAN HARTFORD GOLD
On October 5, 2022, DANIEL BOSTON, the plaintiff, filed a lawsuit against HARTFORD GOLD GROUP, LLC, DBA AMERICAN HARTFORD GOLD, the defendant, alleging wrongful termination, which falls under the Labor category. This lawsuit case was brought before the Los Angeles County Superior Courts, specifically at the Santa Monica Courthouse located in Los Angeles, California.
The current status of the case is listed as “Pending – Other Pending,” indicating that it’s still ongoing and awaiting further developments or resolution.
Update. Before the court could rule on the arbitration motion or the merits of the case, Daniel Boston filed a Request for Dismissal without prejudice on February 7, 2023. The court officially entered the dismissal and canceled all upcoming hearings on February 9, 2023.

Lawsuit 3- Mathys v. The Hartford Gold Group, LLC et al
On July 6, 2020, Mathys, the plaintiff, initiated a lawsuit against The Hartford Gold Group, LLC, the defendant, alleging fraud related to personal property, which falls under the Property category. This legal case was filed in the U.S. District Courts, specifically the Illinois Northern District Court.
The judge presiding over this matter is Charles P. Kocoras. Currently, the case status is listed as “Pending – Other Pending,” indicating that it’s still an ongoing case awaiting further developments or resolution.
Update. The court denied all other pending motions as moot and officially marked the civil case as terminated in the public court system. Because the case was moved out of the judicial court system, any final outcome or “verdict” on the actual personal property fraud allegations would have taken place behind closed doors in a private arbitration tribunal.
Private arbitration details and settlements are typically confidential and not published on public court dockets.

Lawsuit 4- KEVIN SULLIVAN VS AMERICAN HARTFORD GOLD GROUP, ET AL.
On August 21, 2020, KEVIN SULLIVAN, the plaintiff, filed a lawsuit against AMERICAN HARTFORD GOLD GROUP, the defendant, pertaining to a business contract dispute, which falls under the Contract category. This case was brought before the Los Angeles County Superior Courts, specifically at the Spring Street Courthouse located in Los Angeles, California.
The judge overseeing this matter is YVETTE M. PALAZUELOS. Currently, the case status is listed as “Pending – Other Pending,” indicating that it’s an ongoing case awaiting further developments or resolution.
Update. Because a joint stipulation for dismissal was signed and approved, the public court case was effectively ended without an official ruling, jury verdict, or judgment on the merits of the contract dispute.

Lawsuit 5- The Hartford Gold Group LLC vs XXXXXX XXXXXX XXXX, Et AL
There’s also a fifth lawsuit American Hartford Gold is involved in.
Very little info is knowing about it but it appears American Hartford Gold are suing the defendants for allegedly engaging in activities that harmed their business, including diverting customer payments and interfering with business relationships, with the plaintiff (American Hartford Gold) seeking damages exceeding $5 million.
There is no verdict in this case because it remains active and pending in court. I’ll update my guide once the verdict drops.

Lawsuit 6- THE HARTFORD GOLD GROUP, LLC VS BRANDON ANTHONY THOR, ET AL.
On November 16, 2023, THE HARTFORD GOLD GROUP, LLC initiated legal proceedings by filing a Personal Injury and Torts – Fraud lawsuit against BRANDON ANTHONY THOR. The case was filed with the Los Angeles County Superior Courts at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in California. Judge BARBARA M. SCHEPER presided over this matter, which has since been closed.
Update. Rather than going to a full trial, the parties reached an agreement. On September 10, 2024, The Hartford Gold Group filed a Request for Dismissal with prejudice as to the entire action. The court officially entered the dismissal and closed the case on September 11, 2024.

As you can see, there’re very few lawsuits filed against American Hartford Gold at the moment. Most are either dismissed or resolution is pending.
I’ll update my American Hartford Gold lawsuit guide as soon as the verdict is reached on any of the aforementioned lawsuits.
Having just a handful of lawsuits and doing business for over 10 years is a sign of the company’s legitimacy, especially when combined with AHG’ proven track record of excellence over the years.
Despite facing a handful of lawsuits over the years, American Hartford Gold are still one of the best gold investment companies in the US. This company is neither a scam nor a pyramid scheme.
