American Hartford Gold Review for 2024- AHG Pros Explained! #goldira #silverira #nikolaroza Share on XCons (Complaints)
Here are the American Hartford Gold cons and complaints for 2024:
- Complaint 1- There is no Pricing of Products on their Website
- Compliant 2- Limited Payment Options are Available
- Complaint 3- You Can’t Purchase Platinum and Palladium With American Hartford Gold
- Complaint 4- Buyback Policy Leaves a lot to Be Desired
- Complaint 5- No Bitcoin IRA Options
- Complaint 6- Not an Online Gold Dealer
- Complaint 7- Decent Number of Complaints on BBB
- Complaint 8- (Relatively) New Player on the Market
Complaint 1- There is no Pricing of Products on Their Website
American Hartford Gold does not publicly disclose their pricing on their website.
To find out about their service costs, you can download their free gold IRA kit and contact their sales agent. They will provide comprehensive information about investing in precious metals, including a detailed explanation of their fee structure.
Complaint 2- Limited Payment Options are Available
American Hartford Gold give you limited options when it comes to paying for the precious metals you ordered from them.
The available payment options are checks, wire transfers and IRA rollovers.
Complaint 3- You Can’t Purchase Platinum and Palladium With American Hartford Gold
American Hartford Gold don’t stock platinum and palladium products. Even though these precious metals are popular with investors and savers alike.
With American Hartford Gold you can only buy gold and silver coins and bars (click here to see which precious metals AHG stock at the moment).
This is an inconvenience for someone who wants to invest in other types of precious metals, but also a missed opportunity for the company to make more money.
Complaint 4- Buyback Policy Leaves a lot to Be Desired
American Hartford Gold’s buyback policy is that they don’t guarantee the buyback of the metals they sold to you.
According to US law, they can’t offer a precious metals buyback guarantee, but they still encourage all ex-customers who want to sell their gold and silver to come to them first, and they might be able to help. The accent here is on “might”.
This is definitely not ideal, but again it’s the law and also pretty much what every other gold IRA company is forced to do in a similar situation.
None of them can guarantee to buy back the precious metals they sold to you. And they especially can’t guarantee the price as gold and silver are very volatile precious metals.
Complaint 5- No Bitcoin and Crypto IRA Options
American Hartford Gold are strictly a gold and silver IRA company. They don’t offer the option to open a Bitcoin and crypto IRA accounts.
So if you’re looking to open a crypto IRA account make sure you read my guide to the top Bitcoin IRA companies next.
If you’re in a hurry and don’t have time to read my guide, you can read my Bitcoin IRA review and my iTrustCapital review as these two companies are in my opinion the best when it comes to Bitcoin IRAs.
Complaint 6- Not an Online Gold Dealer
American Hartford Gold are not an online gold dealer.
You can learn about the precious metals items they offer on the website, but you can’t order those products like you would from some online store, or from a real online gold dealer.
You also can’t order a single gold or silver coin to gift to someone. Any order you make from AHG must meet their minimum investment requirement threshold.
Complaint 7- Decent Number of Complaints on BBB
In the last 36 months, American Hartford Gold have gotten 35 complaints on their BBB profile. That’s an average of 1 complaint per month. In the last year alone they got and successfully resolved 20 different customer complaints.
It seems people are starting to complain more about AHG, which is bad;
but what’s good is that the company is on top of this problem and is working hard to resolve these issues for every customer who has a problem with their service.
Complaint 8- (Relatively) New Player on the Market
American Hartford Gold are a relatively new player in the gold and silver IRA market. They were founded in 2015 which means they’re almost a 10-year old company by the time I’m writing this review.
Being a younger company isn’t a red flag per se, but in general, the older the company has survived and thrived in the market, the more legitimate and high-quality its service is.
That said, American Hartford Gold are legit and one of the best gold IRA companies in the US.

Also worth noting is that American Hartford Gold waive all fees for the first year to all new gold IRA customers.
Note: American Hartford Gold don’t accept payments in Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies, debit cards, gift cards and payments made by phone.

Finally, you can also contact American Hartford Gold via their official social profiles. It’s not ideal and don’t be surprised if they redirect you to their phone line or their site’s contact form.

Negative and bad reviews about American Hartford Gold exist, but I purposefully didn’t include them in my review.
Why?
Because a large chunk (not all of them) of them are fake reviews posted to harm American Hartford Gold’s reputation.
Remember that American Hartford Gold is a gold IRA company doing business in the gold IRA niche. Gold IRA niche is very competitive and unethical marketing practices are common among competitors.
Posting fake customer reviews is one such tactic.
I’m not saying all of these bad reviews are fake, but it’s impossible for a common web user to discern which negative reviews are real and which are fake; so I played it safe by including only positive testimonials and reviews here.
If you want to find online negative reviews and complaints about American Hartford Gold all you need to do is go to Google or Bing and search queries like “American Hartford Gold negative reviews”, “American Hartford Gold negative review” “American Hartford Gold complaints” “American Hartford Gold bad reviews”, “American Hartford Gold bad review” and similar.

American Hartford Gold offer free silver on qualified gold IRA purchases.
They give up to $5000 of free silver to customers on qualified gold IRA purchases. And… that’s all the information that’s available online.
I searched for more than 2 hours trying to find any reference to AHG’s free silver offer on any other website other than AMG’s, and I couldn’t find any.
My educated guess is that the $5000 free silver gift is reserved for larger gold IRA purchases, while smaller account get less free silver.
This is also what other gold IRA companies do except that the amount of the free silver varies.
A curious example is Augusta Precious Metals who don’t offer free silver on qualified gold IRA purchases at all. They say it’s a type of gold IRA scam.

Hi Nikola, if I invest in America Hartford. and need a small loan? Do they have a loan program I can use? Thanks!
Hi Robert,
I’m not sure what you mean. Can you please clarify? American Hartford Gold don’t give out loans to anyone. They’re a gold investment company that can help you open a gold IRA account or buy precious metals (gold and silver).
Hi Nikola, what does it mean when the lawsuit is pending? I saw in your review that plenty of lawsuits against American Hartford Gold are stuck at pending. Thanks!!
Hi Samuel,
these lawsuits are not stuck at pending. They’re processing but the verdict have not been reached yet. Once the verdicts drop or there’s an off-court settlement, I’ll make sure to update my review here.
