You can use SEMrush to:
- Do keyword research – Use the SEMrush Keyword Magic Tool to find relevant keywords. Then export that keyword list and use them in your content marketing strategy.
- Track your rankings– SEMrush has a pro rank tracker and you can use the Position Tracking tool to track your organic rankings for specific keywords and in different search engines. Tracking your rankings will allow you to make informed decisions when it comes to your SEO strategy.
- Analyze your competition– Use SEMrush’s Competitor Analysis tool to check your competitor’s website and see what keywords they rank for. When you discover their most important keywords, you can then proceed to steal them.
- Generate backlink ideas– Use SEMrush’s Backlink Gap tool to find new backlink opportunities for your website. Just enter a couple of your competitor’s URLs, and you’ll get a list of websites that link to your competitors, but not to you. In other words, these are your new potential link prospects.
- Check website health– Use the SEMrush Site Audit tool to check for technical issues that are hurting your site’s performance in Google. Site Audit will also give you actionable tips for fixing those issues. It’s one of the best SEMrush features you can get with a paid subscription.

Additionally, you can use SEMrush’s Rank Tracker to monitor the effectiveness of your current SEO campaign.

Semrush vs. Moz Pro: Which SEO Tool Should You Buy?
The SEO universe is constantly changing, and as a result, there are always new tools being released that claim to be the best. From affiliate marketing software to marketing strategies, online businesses are constantly coming up with new approaches to be ahead of the competition.
Both Semrush and Moz offer a comprehensive suite of features that can aid you in boosting your website’s ranking in search results. However, Semrush is widely considered to be the more user-friendly option, with an intuitive interface and straightforward features (my SEMrush best features guide explains it better). On the other hand, Moz is more geared towards advanced users and offers more complex features.
Another key difference between the two tools is the range of features they offer. SEMrush offers 55+ different tools and capabilities, while Moz has a more focused offering of just 10+ features. This makes SEMrush a better option if you’re looking for an all-in-one solution, while Moz Pro may be more suitable if you only need a few key tools.
Finally, it’s worth considering how easy each SEO software is to use. SEMrush has a large learning curve, but it becomes really straightforward once you get used to it. Moz Pro, on the other hand, is user-friendly from the start, with an intuitive interface and well-designed dashboard. This makes Moz Pro a clear winner in the usability department, but it’s alsoa minor thing indeed as you can master SEMrush in a matter of 1h or less.
So, SEMrush or Moz Pro…
which tool is right for you?
It depends on your budget/needs but if you require an all-in-one solution with a wide range of features, SEMrush is the tool for you.
And if you need only a handful of specific tools and Moz Pro happens to have them, then Moz Pro may be a better option.
Moz Pro is definitely worth checking out, especially since they have a 30-day free trial too.
